511. Punishment for trying to devote offences punishable with imprisonment for existence or other imprisonment. 511. Punishment for trying to dedicate offences punishable with imprisonment for existence or different imprisonment.

--Whoever tries to dedicate an offence punishable by means of this Code with 1*[imprisonment for life] or imprisonment, or to purpose such an offence to be committed, and in such strive does any act closer to the commission of the offence, shall, in which no explicit provision is made through this Code for the punishment of such try, be punished with 2*[imprisonment o f any description provided for the offence, for a term which may extend to one-half of the imprisonment for life or, as the case may be, onehalf of the longest term of imprisonment provided for that offence], or with such fine as is furnished for the offence, or with each.
